The other concert of the evening was a vocal concert by Yoga Kirtana, very young artiste. Daughter of Vandana, the girl is in the formative stage but displayed much promise. She has excellent voice with good range and has developed the knack of throwing her voice fully, with clear sahitya expression. Though it was a brief recital, she displayed good talent and showed the potential to develop into a good artiste.
Disciple of Vidushi P. Ramaa, an eminent vocalist of Bangalore, she has already acquired the skill of expanding a raga methodically and then presenting swara kalpana with good discipline.
Kirtana started her recital with Viriboni Ata Thala Varnam in Bhairavi and followed it up with Sri Mahaganapathim in Athana. Kalyani was essayed carefully.
Pawan Singh accompanied her on the violin and Srinivasa Gopalan was on mridangam.
