Swapan Basu, popular ethnic singer from Kolkata presented traditional and folk songs of Bengal at the India International Centre.
Puppet Show
Alliance Francaise de Delhi presented Massimo Schuster's "Mahabharata", the greatest Indian epic in a highly poetic puppet show. The event took place this past Friday at the Abhimanch auditorium, Bahawalpur House.
Theatre Activities
Foundation Theatre Society presented at the India Habitat Centre, the Hindi play "Manuscript", directed by Soumyabrata Choudhary. Yasmina Reza's comedy play "ART" with cast including Sunit Tandon, Suhel Seth and Vivek Mansukhani was also mounted at the Habitat Centre.
Dance Arangetram
Priya Bhaskaran, disciple of Guru Jayalakshmi Eshwar presented her Bharatanatyam arangetram at the Triveni Kala this past Saturday.
Art Exhibitions
The art exhibitions that were on view included Delhi Art Gallery's "Retrospective of Rabin Mondal paintings" at the Delhi Art Gallery, Hauz Khas Village; an exhibition of landscape oil paintings of Nusrat Khan presented by Collage, The Centre of Art, also at Hauz Khas Village; works by masters of Indian contemporary art at the Palette Art Gallery in Golf Links; and an exhibition of paintings and sculptures "Fly High My Beloved Birds" - a tribute to Asokan Poduwal, presented by the Travancore Art Gallery.
