Exemplary performance

The `specialist artistes' brought alive the characters from the play `Pandava Vijayam'.



DRAMATIC VICTORY `Pandava Vijayam' kept the audience glued throughout the play.

Pandava Vijayam, the second part of the mega mythical play `Pandavoodyoga Vijayamulu' of Tirupathi Venkatakavulu in poetic diction was staged last week in the Premasamajam Hall.

Featured as the major part of the 136th monthly schedule of Sai Kalaa Niketan, the team included the specialists portraying specific roles of the play.

No wonder, it kept the audience glued to their seats all the way despite interruption half way through for a felicitation function.

Eminent stage actor and popular homoeopathist Dr. Yerramilli Haragopal, an employee of the Port and Dock Labour Board, was the choice this month for the routine of felicitations offered by the Niketan.

Guests of honour, renowned stage artistes S. Satyanarayana Murthy and N. Simhadri spoke at the function that was chaired by the working president of the Niketan, Choudary Appa Rao.

The episodes depicting the end of Bhishma, Abhimanyu in the Padmavyuham, Dronacharya by making Dharmaraja announce the death of the elephant Aswaddhama and so on till Duryodhana was killed by Bhima stood out in particular.

While Tallapragada Ramachandra Murthy lived the role of Srikrishna, B. Vijaya Saradhi as Arjuna, B.A. Naidu as Dharmaja, A.V. Raghavan in particular as Bhima, B. Vijayasai as Abhimanyu, Baggu Bhaskara Rao as Karandaka, B. Bapu Naidu as Duryodhana and Dunna Jagga Rao as Karna among others impressed all alike sustaining the tempo with elan.

Ella Appa Rao and T. Radhakrishna Murthy provided commensurable accompaniment on harmonium.

The credits for stage decor, scenic settings, lighting, make-up etc., were shared by P.V.R. Murthy, B.V.N.R. Naidu, U.A. Naidu, Simhadri and Kesava Raju.
