Titles for artistes

Sri Panchamugha Anjaneyar Festival Committee, Mylapore (Ph: 2464 1753) is celebrating Hanumath Jayanthi from Dec. 30 to January 8, 2006 at P. K. Mahal, Chitrakulam South Street, Mylapore. Eminent artistes will give concerts. The title `Swararaga Saragnyar' will be conferred on Chingleput Ranganathan, O. S. Arun and M. S. Anantharaman and `Laya Vadhya Sironmani' on Mannargudi Eswaran and Nagaraja Rao.

Vaikuntham at Pallavaram

The inauguration of Vaikuntham, a place for performing pithru karma, at Sankara Salai, Subham Nagar, Old Pallavaram, Chennai — 117, (Ph: 91-44-55447508), will take place on November 20, 6 a.m. Built by Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswati Swamigal Sri Vaishnavi Trust, (Ph: 044-28441790) the event will begin with kumbhabishekam for Lord Ganesha, followed by upanyasam by Ganesh Sharma, at 7.30 a.m. Vaikuntham will function in a natural ambience, housing deer, peacocks and cows. Shrines for Brahma, Vishnu and Siva, and a temple tank are other features. Vaikuntham will start functioning from Dec. 14 and all services will be free of cost.

Upanyasam

Musiri Chamber has organised Vishakha Hari's Sangeetha Upanyasam on Nov. 20 at 4.01 p.m. The venue will be 28/2 Musiri Subramaniam Road, Mylapore.

Sathabhishekam

The sathabhishekam of Thirukkallam Nrisimharaghavacharya is being celebrated from November 15. A seminar on the Bhagavad Gita will take place tomorrow (Nov. 19) 3-8 p.m. at Sri Desika Vidya Bhavanam, Mylapore. On Nov. 20 at 4 p.m. the Tamil interpretation of Isavasya Upanishad authored by Sri Thirukkallam Swami and a CD of his discourses will be released.
