Dance Recitals

India Habitat Centre hosted this past week Bharatatyam recitals by Aditi Rao and Bilwa Raman (based on the book "Krishna" by Shanta Rameshwar Rao) and Sharanya, daughter and disciple of Geeta Chandran. Besides, Prathibha Prahlad, eminent Bharatanatyam exponent presented Bharanatayam recitals at DPS, Vasantkunj (as part of Spic Macay's Virasat) and at Shakuntalam Theatre, as part of the India International Trade Fair.

Photo Exhibition

Goeth Institut presented photo exhibitions by Peter Bialobrzeski that concluded this past week. The shows included "Neon Tigers - photographs of Asian mega cities" at the Lalit Kala and "Homeland - photographs of contemporary German landscapes" at Siddhartha Hall, Max Mueller Bhavan.

French Lectures

For the seventh year running, the network of the Alliances Francaises and the Service for Science and Technology (SST) of the French Embassy in India, hosted French Science Today. This year in Delhi it featured lelctures on "Landform dynamics and natural risks in Himalayas", "Seismic Hazards: The Himalayan Challenge" and "Observing and modelling the human brain".

Theatre Activities

Kashti Theatre Group mounted a comedy play "Kya Karain Bataao... ?" at Hindi Bhawan at ITO earlier this week. The play was directed by Vivek Devrani.

Film Shows

While Italian Cultural Centre presented the Italian film Le Chiavi Di Casa (The Keys to the House) this past Wednesday, Alliance Francaise de Delhi presented the French thriller Sur mes levres (Read my Lips). Besides, the Habitat Centre presented Vatavaran 2005, Environment and Wildlife Film Festival, and IIC hosted "Alternative: A Festival of Animation Films" screening animation films from Spain, Japan, U.K. and The Netherlands. This Festival continues till the coming Saturday.

Art Exhibitions

The art exhibitions that concluded recently included "Divine Lithography" (curated by Enrico Castelli and Giovanni Aprile) at IGNCA Exhibition Gallery in Janpath; paintings by Chandan Das presented by Shanta Art Gallery; an exhibition of collage paintings by Manish Nai and Limbha Chiya presented by Apparao Galleries at the Triveni; Saswati Chaudhuri's drawings and paintings at the Habairt Gallery; an exhibition of the short art of Ka. Ty Deslandes presented by Alliance Francaise de Delhi; Shalini S. Vichitra's works presented by Anant Art Gallery; and Debangshu Das's exhibition of paintings at the Taj Palace Hotel
