Time for the Other Festival

The Park's The Other Festival opens at the Museum Theatre, on December 1.


The Park's The Other Festival (Ph: 98400 98495; 98840 29130) opens with a curtain raiser on November 27, 7 p.m., at Sundar Mahal (Amethyst) in the form of a music recital by two renowned Dutch musicians. Marcel Worms plays on the piano with Eleonore Pameijer on the flute. Ganesh Kumar from Chennai joins them with Alaap.

The festival (venue Museum Theatre) opens at 7 p.m. on December 1, with the contemporary music compositions of Mohan Narayanan by violinist L Athira Krishna followed by ``Jalam," a contemporary dance performance by Samudra Performing Arts. On Dec 2, (7 p.m.) RABI'A, a solo dance performance by Seema Agarwal in collaboration with Theatre Director Abhilash Pillai, New Delhi will be presented. ``Erendira and her Heartless Grandmother" — theatre adaptation of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's short story by Amal Allana and Salima Raza, will be staged on December 3 (7 p.m.).

At 6 p.m. on December 4, ``Dushala/ The Last Matriarch" — a solo theatre performance will be presented by Pritham K. Chakravarthy. This will be followed by Music — Flamenco Guitarist Pedro Soler from France (in association with Alliance Francaise)



PROMISING TO BE DIFFERENT: The Other Festival.

``Dushasana," a solo theatre performance by M. Palani and Spanish dance by Carmen Werner, Alejandro Morata of Provisional Danza, Spain, are slated for December 5 (6 p.m.)

The Tami Dance Theater Company and Nimrod Freed (Israel) will present contemporary multimedia dance performance at 7 p.m. on December 6. The curtain will come down on Dec 7 with the solo theatre performance of Onassis Awardee, Manjula Padmanabhan's ``Hidden fires" by Rashi Bunny, New Delhi. Donor passes available at The Park, Landmark, Odyssey, Amethyst, Alliance Francaise and Shilpi.
