Stargazing
Another from Telugu
The Telugu hit `Bhadram' is being remade in Tamil as `Saravana.' After `Manmadhan,' Simbhu and Jyotika team up once again for the film. Simbhu's films take time, while director K. S. Ravikumar is known to complete projects ahead of schedule. The two come together for `Saravana,' and in keeping with his reputation, Ravikumar has finished work in 58 days shooting had been planned for 70. Including Prakashraj and Vivek, the potential of nearly 45 well-known actors have been tapped for `Saravana.' Post-production is on.
On the dot
Karthik and Prabhu are the heroes of `Gusthi' directed by Rajkapoor. Be it shooting or dubbing, Karthik, who once had the reputation of reporting late on the sets, is on the dot these days. The producer and director are so happy with the co-operation he extends that Karthik is part of the cast of Satyaraj's `Sivalingam IPS' produced by the same banner and also directed by Rajkapoor. For the first time Karthik plays a negative role in `Sivalingam IPS.' "He may act as a villain in our film, but for us he's always a hero," says the producer.
Bargavan's next film
Written and directed by Bargavan, after `Kadhal Seiyya Virumbu,' `Oru Kadhal Seiveer' has Santosh and Archana Kalyani as the lead pair. Santosh was also the hero of Bargavan's earlier film `Kadhal Seiyya _' Krishna (of Naga's tele-serial `Chidambara Rahasiyam') has a significant role in `Oru Kadhal Seiveer.' The cast also includes Chandrasekar, Sabitha Anand and Ilavarasu. Bharani is the composer.
Just two
With just the hero and heroine comprising the cast, `By 2' promises to be different from the usual. Shooting is going on at Salakudi, on a set replete with wild animals. The location of the entire story is a forest and that explains the set. `By 2' will be the first film in Tamil for filmmaker Dwaraki Raghavan. He has already directed two films in Kannada. Tamil audiences always encourage innovation. That's why the producer is making `By 2' in Tamil, you are told. Abhay is the hero of `By 2' and Sunita Varma (of `6.2') the heroine.
