A galaxy in action

S. R. ASHOK KUMAR

A group of artists gathered together at AVM Studios recently for the shoot of a significant scene for `Pasakkiligal.'

ANOTHER SENTIMENTAL DRAMA: `Paasakkiligal.'

A star studded shooting was going on at the AVM Chettiar bungalow insideAVM Studios. On one side was Prabhu giving final touches to his make-up and on the other was Murali. Navya Nair was happiness personified, mainly because she has got a good name in the recent `Chidambarathil Oru Appasamy.' `Kalabavan' Mani was talking to Nasser about his Malayalam films and Vineeth (`Chandramukhi' fame) was an attentive listener. Roja and Malavika were silent spectators.

Amirtham says

In the midst of all these, director Amirthan was discussing shots and angles with his cameraman M. V. Panneerselvam and director Rama. Narayanan who is only a producer as far as this film, `Paasakkiligal' is concerned. Amirtham said, "Producer Rama. Narayanan is always there to help me. He did not hesitate for a moment when I suggested we shoot in Rajasthan. `Kalaignar' Mu. Karunanidhi has written the song which has been set to music by Vidyasagar." Rama. Narayanan said that he is happy that in short time Kalaignar Karunanidhi has written two films for him. "This film is out and out a family drama where the story revolves around two families. It is a story about two brothers and a sister. They meet another family and how they adjust with each otheris the gist of the story." Director Amirtham added that they have shot in all the four Southern States for the film. "I am happy that I have got the best talents in Tamil, which include Prabhu, Murali, Nasser, `Kalabhavan' Mani, Vineeth, Tyagu, Kumarimuthu, Manorama, Roja, Navya Nair and Malavika. Kalaignar Karunanidhi writes the story, screenplay and dialogue.

"We are shooting an important scene for which all the artists are needed. The scene is about Prabhu and Murali discussing their problems and their sister happening to overhear them. We have to shoot this scene by this evening and leave for North India."

The film is to be released for Pongal.
