What's on the air on December 24 and 25.



CELEBRATION TIME: A treat on television.

As usual, all the Malayalam television channels have come up with a wide range of programmes that will be telecast on December 24 and 25. Films, interviews with film stars, choirs and Christmas messages will fill the screens on those two days.

Amrita TV

Amrita TV's special Christmas package on December 24 and 25 will cover a wide spectrum of programmes and live coverage of events. Mani Ratnam's `Thiruda Thiruda' will be aired at 3.30 p.m. on December 24 and `Dalapathy' on December 25. `Christmas Tree,' featuring a choir, will be telecast at 9.30 p.m. on December 24. This will be followed by a 30-minute interaction (10.30 p.m.) with Bishop Mar Cyril Mar Baselius who will share his experiences with viewers.

The highlight would be a live coverage of the midnight mass and other programmes at Palayam St. Joseph's Cathedral.


On December 25, tune into Amrita TV for a journey to the historic St. Thomas' Baselica in Kochi. At 9 a.m., the film `Moses' would be telecast. The film has been dubbed in Malayalam. Malayala Manorama Chief Editor K.M. Mathew will go down memory lane in `Orma' (11.30 a.m.).

Christmas is also a time for heavy lunches and get-togethers. So, at 1.30 p.m., a special programme on food will be aired. After you have your fill, join Kerala's first test cricketer Sreeshanth on `Nakshatrangal Ehtuvazhie' at 2 a.m.

`Njan Innocent' at 7.30 p.m. has been specially made for the festive occasion. `Samagamam' at 8 p.m. features K.J. Jesudas and family. Wind up your day with `Jingle Bells,' a musical programme at 9.30 p.m. featuring Saynora, Franco and Renjini Jose.

Surya TV


Special programmes for Christmas will begin early on Surya TV. It is a star-studded day as Mammooty, Mohanalal, K.S. Chitra and Lalu Alex will join viewers to celebrate Christmas.

Wake up to melodious Christmas carols at 6 a.m. on December 25. Nedumudi Venu will be the guest in `Ponpulari' at 7.30 a.m. The Priyadarshan directed Mohanalal-starrer `Kilichundan Mambazham' and Dileep's `CID Moosa' will be telecast at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. respectively.

Lalu Alex (`Thikachum Sokariyam') joins viewers at 9.30 a.m. Mammooty talks about his latest film in `Bus Conductaram Sahayatrikalam' at 10.30 a.m. Jayasoorya, Nikita, Bhavana and Mamata will also join the superstar. A tete-a-tete with K.S. Chitra will be telecast at 2.30 p.m. `Rameshente Thanmatrakal' features Mohanlal talking about his character Rameshan in his latest film `Thanmatra.' Urvashi will anchor a quiz show at 8.30 p.m. Kavya Madhavan will be the special guest on Jayachandran Kootickal's popular `Comedy Time.'

Asianet

Asianet's sumptuous Christmas package features musicals, special game shows and films. `Manasinakare' and `Pulivaal Kalyanam' will be telecast on December 25. Carols by playback singers, an interview with Asin and a live `Nammal Thammal' are some of the highlights on December 25. Innocent will participate in the special `Sa Ri Ga Ma... ' episode. Asianet Plus and Asianet News will also have special programmes to celebrate the joyous occasion.
