Stargazing
All for action
Prashant, Nila (of 'Ah ...Aah'), Meghna Naidu and Vivek team up for 'Jaambavaan,' the puja for which was held at Tirumala-Tirupati. The ritual was followed by a couple of scenes shot at a bungalow in Tirumala. You are told that 'Jaambavaan' is the first Tamil film for which the muhurat and shooting have taken place there. Promising to be an action-filled entertainer, 'Jaambavaan' is being written and directed by Nandakumar.
For the record
Probably for the first time in Tamil film history, 50 technicians from the industry have come together to produce a film — 'Yuga.' They hope it will be a record that would get them into the Guinness. A suspense drama from 'Yaar' Kannan, known for such subjects, the unique feature of the project is each technician is doing his bit without taking any remuneration. Only the actors are being paid. The crew will share the profit they gain from the venture. The cast includes Richard, Manikandan and Swarnamalya.
Hit team
Shakti Chidambaram will continue with his success spree, if his next film, 'Kovai Brothers,' starring Chidambaram's favourite hero Satyaraj, also becomes a hit. The three films they did together — 'Ennamma Kannu,' 'Maha Nadigan' and 'Englishkaaran' — did good business. Sibi joins Satyaraj for 'Kovai Brothers.' “But they will not play brothers or father and son in 'Kovai Brothers.' They are two people who join hands to fight the callousness and lethargy they come across in Government offices, '” clarifies a unit hand.
Jai for Akash?
Writer-director M.K. Tyagarajan, who has wielded the baton for films such as 'Maanagara Kaaval' and 'Vetri Mael Vetri' is directing Akash for 'Vaettai.' Keerti Chawla is the heroine. Akash has been going through a lean patch for quite some time now. One has to wait and watch to see whether 'Vaettai' proves fruitful for its hero.
