Power of intuition

How can you visualise objects far away or predict the future? But what the mind is capable of can't always be explained through reason.

To know more about it, one will have to read Ramachandra Jivaji Galagali's book Intuitional Experiences (Jeevan Jyoti Publications, Rs. 300). The book, published almost nine years ago, had remained unnoticed till now.

The book is essentially a collection of the author's personal experiences during his stay at Banaras Hindu University from 1950-57 as Professor of Chemistry and throws light on the power of intuition. Intuition, as the author says, belongs to a deep inner perception born in mind, the power derived in trance by a person who possesses spiritual knowledge.

"Intuition is a sudden and instantaneous apprehension by the mind. `Apprehension' implies sensation, knowledge and mystical rapport, while `sudden' signifies absence of reasoning an inference. It also covers absence of conscious reasoning, analysis and justification and denotes the absence of symbols and absence of thinking."

In the foreward, former Chief Justice M.N. Venkatachalaiah says Galagali, a product of the rigorous scientific traditions of the West, is entitled to the highest credibility. His work has, therefore, profound implications for students in para-psychology, mysticism, occult phenomenon, Indology and the ancient wisdom of the East.
