All set to steal hearts

S. R. ASHOK KUMAR

With the floor filled with ice, director Saran had a foreign location re-created at AVM Studios.

DUETS IN AN EXOTIC AMBIENCE: "Idhaya Thirudan."

The newly air-conditioned floor at AVM studio was full of ice as if it were a place in a foreign country. "That is what we want," said director Saran when told about the whole atmosphere inside the set. "It is a lead for the song which we have shot in three different places in Munich, Italy and Austria. We used the ice only in one country but in the other two places, it was enchanting visuals with some wonderful melody, thanks to the music of Bharadwaj. After we came back I wanted to have the start of the song in Chennai, so here we are with ice and warm clothes."

After giving instructions to his assistants, director Saran comes out with more details about `Idhaya Thirudan' produced by Kavithalaya. "It is out and out a love story but with a difference. It is packaged with some soul searching music. It is a mental war between the hero and the heroine. `Jayam' Ravi has done the role in a beautiful way. Kamna, the new find, will certainly be successful in cinema. She is sure to mesmerise the younger generation. Prakashraj has once again done a memorable role in the film while Ramesh Kanna and Vaiyapuri take care of the comedy. After a long gap Vani Viswanath is doing an important character in the film." For Saran he cannot forget one thing. He went once to the set of "Aaru" which is produced by him, but directed by Hari. Likewise his mentor and doyen of the South Indian filmdom K. Balachander also came to his set only once, as he was shooting in the next set in AVM.

Discussion

Producer Pushpa Kandaswamy who came to the sets went to Saran and had a discussion with him. "The film has come out very well. There are six songs and three fights and all of them have been picturised beautifully. We are ready, and with director Saran's hard work I expect the film will be ready as soon as possible."

Kandaswamy of Digital studio is ready to take the film all over the globe as he had done for Rajnikant's "Muthu". A. Venkatesh operates the camera while `Crazy' Mohan writes the dialogue.

When asked about the news that he had asked his heroine to see the film, `Kadhal,' director Saran said it was right. "When I decided to shoot the climax of the film I wanted my heroine to be in a certain mood. So I asked her to see `Kadhal.' I also asked her not to talk to anyone for nearly three days, till I finished shooting the climax. One will know the reason why I told her so, after they see the film."

`Jayam' Ravi is a catering college student and heroine Kamna is an engineering student in the film.
