New soap on the telly

A new soap has joined the long list of serials on air. A serial by K.K. Rajeev, `Amma Manassu' is being telecast on Asianet from January 2. Aired from Monday to Friday, the story begins with a contract being made between two families concerning marriage between two minors, Isa and Abhi. The contract will however be formalised after five years.

Isa is carrying Abhi's child and leaves for the United States where she gives birth to a baby girl. Isa then returns home and resumes her studies. Five years go by, and Abhi is a TV anchor in Bangalore. While leading a carefree life, a telegram from home brings him to Kerala. He returns only to discover that it is time to marry Isa. After a lot of persuasion and threats, he agrees. What follows is a roller coaster ride. Chippy, who essays Isa's role in the serial makes a comeback on television after a break.

Cast Chippy, Sreelatha, Valsala Menon, Vanitha, Kannur Sreelatha, Krishna, Prem Prakash and others.
