Many a noted scholar and connoisseur of ancient literature celebrated Kalidasa Dinotsavam at Anandavanam of Sadguru K.Sivananda Murty in Bheemili recently . With Sarvagnasekhara Acharya Appala Someswara Sarma in the chair, Upanyasa Kesari G.V.S. Subrahmanya Sarma and Acharya Sarvabhowma Vedula Subrahmanya Sastry delivered enlightening talks on the ever-radiant poetic splendour as it gets revealed in plays and
kavyas of the ever great poet. Quoting extensively, they expounded the genius behind the conceptualisation, development, planning and execution manifesting scenes in suite with characters full of life in his plays and picturisation in a similar way in the exquisitely flowing vocabulary of his pen in the kavyas.
Later, the Sadguru released two books titled Sarvamangala Sarvaswamu and Stotramani Manjusha. The first was an outcome of an in depth study made by Acharya Nadiminti Ramachandra Sastry, on the literary works in Sanskrit of his grand father's grand father Nadiminti Sarvamangaleswara Sastry (1759-1839) under the erudite guidance of Someswara Sarma. Compiled and edited by the author himself, it was published mostly with the munificent help of the Sadguru.
The first part of the book is a critical analysis of reviews on works of Mangaleswara Sastry by his contemporary scholars and of the later period, Nadiminti Pathanjali Sastry (his grandson), Oleti Venkata Subbaraya Sastry, Sripaada Lakshminarayana Sastry, M. Krishnamacharyaar (1937), Challapilla Venkata Sastry (1948), Veturi Prabhakara Sastry (1952), Yamijala Padmanabha Sastry (1978), Prakash Chandra Sathapathi (2000).
The recorded version of the event of conferment of the title `Abhinava Kaalidasa' on Sastry jointly by the Sanskrit scholars of Navadweep and Varanasi in the early part of the 19th century as mentioned in the Visakhapatnam district manual of 1865 also is mention in the book. The second part comprises rectified and reconstructed versions of the spoiled old prints of Sastry's Sabdamanjari, Samaasakusumaavali, Vibhakti Vilaasam and Sri Ramayana Sangraham along with Telugu commentary by Samavedula Ramagopala Sastry.
Stotra Manimanjusha was a similar effort, a compilation of various stotras including those of Sankaracharya by Someswara Sarma. The Sadguru at the end said that it is a matter of great gratification that a comprehensive history including achievements of Sarvamangaleswara Sastry, an Andhra by birth from Munganda now in East Godavari district and who stood conferred with the title `Abhinava Kaalidasa' has come at last. Similarly, the second book is not only a well-organised and ready-made vista for the pious towards realisation but also a treasure house of the attributes of the glory of the Almighty in various forms.
