Harpsichord Recital
Douglas Amrine in his Harpsichord recital, presented a programme of Elizabethan music at the IIC early this week. Douglas Amrine has performed the early keyboard repertoire for the last 30 years and he has played a wide variety of historic harpsichords and organs across Europe.
Music Recital
Shubhra Guha, senior artiste and disciple of the late Sunil Bose of Agra Gharana presented a Hindustani Classical vocal recital at the IIC. She was accompanied by Mithilesh Kumar Jha on the tabla.
Sasthapreethi function
Delhi Sasthapreethi Celebrations Committee conducted the Sasthapreethi Celebrations of Lord Ayyappa at the Railway Board Staff Community Centre, Brig. Hoshiar Singh Marg, Lakshmibai Nagar this past week.
Art Exhibitions
The exhibitions on view this past week and early this week included Koushal Choudhry's acrylic paintings on canvas at the Habitat Centre; Preeti Varma's solo show "Fluids"; recent works of Nand Kishore at the Triveni; and an exhibition of paintings and photographs, "Cardinal Layers Contrasting Aspects" presented by Apparao Galleries.
Dance Performance
The Habitat Centre hosted "Expressions of the Mind", a tribute to the achievements of the Indian mind through music and dance, featuring Odissi recital by Kiran Sehgal and a classical fusion of sitar and cello by Shubhendra Rao and Saaskia De Haas Rao.
