`Aasetu Himachalam' was staged as part of the inauguration of new cultural organisation.

Chaitanya Sravanti a new cultural association made a good start in Vijayawada. The Sabha was inaugurated by Supraja, a budding actress. Kota Sankara Rao, a noted film and stage actor spoke congratulating the organisers of Chaitanya Sravanti and A. Sivarama Reddy a highly reputed stage actor was fittingly honoured.
While speaking on the occasion Sivarama Reddy appealed to the aspiring actors not to take the acting in lighter vein and that intense concentration and constant practice could produce a quality drama. .Presented by Arts Co.(A.P.S.R.T.C.group), the drama Aasetu Himachalam was engrossingly enacted by seasoned actors and actresses.
The story of the drama revolved round the present day society whose values are falling down alarmingly. Fine performances came from D.N.Malleswara Rao (who was also the director of the drama), V.V.Swamy, M.V.Ramesh Babu, A.Venkateswara Rao, K.Souri Raju, Srinivas, Rajyam, Jyothi and others. The drama was powerfully scripted by P.Lakshmi Kulasekhar.
The drama was preceded by a brief but impressive dance recital by Kumari Sruti.
