NFDC's `Sasanam' is an emotional drama with the touches of director Mahendran.

It didn't require much coaxing to visit the old Chettinad house. The attraction? Aravind Swamy had donned the grease paint after a long time for ``Sasanam," directed by J. Mahendran His co-artistes are Gouthami and Ranjita in this NFDC product.
For Mahendran's fans
The film, incidentally, will be welcomed by admirers of Mahendran, architect of some sensitive films such as "Thanga Padakkam," whose script he authored, and "Mullum Malarum", "Udirippokkal", "Nenchathai Killadhe," which he directed.
Mahendran comes over for a chat after explaining the situation to Ranjita. "This film is a complete commercial venture from NFDC, with Aravind Swamy, Gouthami and Ranjitha sharing the frames equally," he explains.
``The subject is rural that highlights woman's power. Here we have two women vying for honours. It is sure to draw the attention of the jury at the national level. The film is almost over and I'm here to give the finishing touches," he says. Ramakrishnan, Regional Manager of NFDC, is happy that the film has come out in a beautiful way. "It has the distinct touches of Mahendran. Music is scored by Balabarathi who has tuned some lovely songs. Lenin and V. T. Vijayan are the editors. Arvind Swamy might well use it as a comeback vehicle," he elaborates.
With Karaikudi as the backdrop, "Sasanam" is an emotional drama depicting human relationships and values.
It is a poignant portrait of the faith, tolerance and loyalty that a woman extends to the man in her life. of circumstances.
