Ballet on Krishna

MOHANA... KRSNA BECKONS Ananda Shankar Jayant

Ananda Shankar Jayant, presents once again her colourful and lyrical presentation, Mohana ....Krsna beckons, for the Andhra Music Academy's annual music and dance festival, on Saturday the January 28 at 7.30 p.m. at Hariharakala Bhawan.

With an ensemble of 23 dancers and five members of orchestra, this production by Shankarananda Kalakshetra, brings together a collage of Oothukadu Venkata Kavi's lyrical poems in dance.

Says Ananda the choreographer, "While composing the Kalinga Nartana Thillana last year, I revisited the book, with my mother's pencilled selections, and was fascinated by the lyrical and rhythmic quality of the music."
