Dance Programmes

While dancer and choreographer, Geeta Chandran, and her troupe presented `Dance of Life', a newly created Bharatanatyam ballet in aid of Indian Cancer Society, the Habitat Centre also hosted Sonal Mansingh's `Aatmayana: Journey to the Centre of Being' on the eve of the Republic Day.

Theatre Activities

Asmita Arts Group presented France Rame and Darlo Fo's comic and satirical play, `A woman alone', featuring a solo performance by eminent British actress Ruth Sheard, Ruchika Theatre group presented Feisal Alkazi's children's play `Lesser Known tales from Arabia' - at the Habitat Centre earlier this week.

Piano Concert

The Embassy of Czech Republic in New Delhi presented a piano concert by renowned Czech musician, Libor Novacek at the India International Centre.

Art Exhibitions

The art exhibitions that concluded recently included Apparao Galleries' "Forests of the Mahabharata' at the Habitat; an exhibition of Bollywood and Hollywood posters and old ads at the Convention Foyer; Sudarshan adhwa's paintings "The Mystique Nature" at the Lalit Kala; Helen Kumar's painting exhibition at the Academy of Fine Arts and Literature; Raza Zaidi's exhibition of paintings (figurative and calligraphic) at the AIFACS Gallery; Manish Kumar Rao's "Glimpses from the past" at Krishna's Collection Art Gallery in Defence Colony; Shweta Talwar's composition on canvas at the Lalit Kala; Suruchi Gupta's "Maati", a collection of paintings, showcasing eternal powr of nature and its expressions for freedom at the Habairt Gallery;and a group show "Back to the future" at the Gallery Espace.
