Fusion furniture

The innovations of Sonadhar Poyan Vishwakarma, winner of the Kalashree and Kalanidhi awards, has brought a new dimension to the craft form. He was the first to create animal forms out of iron for which he won the national award.Now, he brings to Chennai, for the first time, his brilliantly conceptualised range of `Fusion Furniture in Wood and Ironcraft' to an exhibition with the same name. The artist has combined dancing tribal human forms and animals with the solidity of lightly carved wood.

The exhibition is on view at Sunny Sistems Gallery, 58, 2nd Avenue Main Road, Gandhinagar, Adyar (Ph: 2442 6415) till March 2.
