Compositions on Lord Shiva were offered

A large number of musicians participated in the Akhanda Vaggeyakararotsavam conducted by Swarajhari, in connection with Sivaratri, at Sri Sitarama Kalyana Mandapam, Satyanarayanapuram, Vijayawada. The Adhanda Ganam started at 8 am on Sivaratri day and continued till 8 am on Monday. Thus, the musicians had the benefit of observing the traditional Jagaram (staying awake through the night) as well.
Scores of vocalists, violinists and percussionists participated voluntarily and performed with great devotion, offering keertanas on Lord Shiva by various vaggeyakaras including those of the Trinity of Music - Tyagaraja, Muthuswamy Dikshitar and Syamasastri. Many devotees and lovers of music sat through the night and enjoyed the music.
Besides a number of youngsters, some prominent musicians who participated in the Akhanda Ganam were Modumudi Sudhakar, Kondapalli Sitaramiah, Manda Krishnamohan, Popuri Gowrinath, P.S.Rao, C.V.P.Sastri, T.S.Ramachandra Rao, T.K.Saroja, S.Gowripati Sastry, G.V.Ramakumari, K.Sasidhar, Bhargav, Gudipati Lalita, Anjana Sudhakar and S.Bharathi. Violin and percussion support was provided by P.Nageswara Rao, Ganduri Srinivasa Murthy, G.Sitaramalakshmi, M.Lakshminarayana Raju, P.S.Phalgun, N.S.Kalyanaraman, Phanibhushan and others.
