Music Recitals
The Habitat Centre featured a number of music programmes that included an evening of bhajans and ghazals by R.K. Saxena, Vibha Sinha, Kala Verma and Vidisha Saxena; an evening of ghazals, "Intezaaar - Lamhon Ka Safar" by Dilip Shankar; verse and rhythm on the occasion of Mahashivaratri; and Priyadarshini Kulkarni's Hindustani classical vocal recital. Gaurav Majumdar, a disciple of Pt. Ravi Shankar, presented a sitar recital at the IIC, in memory of Ustad N. Faiyazuddin Dagar earlier this week, which was followed by a Dhrupad recital by Ustad F. Wasifuddin Dagar.
Hindi Play
National Theatre workers Aliance (NATWA) presented Mohan Maharishi's play "Ho Rahega Kuch Na Kuch", a two-actor adaptation of Marsha Norman's Pulitzer award winning play Night Mother at the Shri Ram Centre.
Foreign Films
While the Directorate of Film Festivals, India and The Ministry of Culture, Spain, presented Spanish Film Festival at Siri Fort auditorium, Asiad Village, featuring a dozen Spanish films, Italian Embassy Cultural Institute presented an Italian film "Padre Padrone" (Father and Master) earlier this week.
Art Exhibitions
Some of the recently-concluded exhibitions include a display of marble sculptures by Gyan Singh at the Triveni; a sculpture show by Shiwan at the Lalit Kala; a solo show of bronze sculptures by K.S. Radhakrishnan at Art Alive, Panchsheel Park; an exhibition of sculptures, Shapes'n Motion, by Beate Neumann at Arpana Gallery; Amit Vardhan's paintings at the Poorva Sanskritik Kendra, Laxmi Nagar; and paintings of Banishree Falisse at the Habiart Gallery.
