The ITC-Sangeet Research Academy (ITC-SRA) which has been promoting Hindustani classical music is presenting its annual Sangeet Sammelan in Bangalore on March 4 and 5. The sammelan features Pandit Arun Bhaduri, Girija Devi, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Ranjani Ramachandran and Ustad Shujaat Hussain Khan. The sammelan will be held at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall.
ITC's association with Hindustani classical began with the first sammelan in Delhi in 1971, from which time the institution has been showcasing the best in Indian classical music annually. It is conducted by the Academy in different cities every year. As has been its tradition, cash award will be given to the oldest living musician of stature.
