Music Recitals

While the mother-daughter duo of Minoti Khaund and Sunita Bhuyan presented a violin recital, Sargam presented Holi bandishes by Lovleena Kumar and Jawad Ali Khan and Mazhar Ali Khan of Patiala gharana at the Habitat. The Centre also hosted `Kesar Ki Udhat Phuhaar', with Shaila Hatangadi and Shobhana Rao presented a concert featuring traditional light classical Horis and popular folk forms of Mathura and Brindavan.

A tribute to the life and music of sitar maestro, Ustad Vilayat Khan, `Spirit to Soul' featured an evening of classical bandishes by Zila Khan at Indian International Centre this Monday where the who's who attended the performance.

The IIC also had a programme in memory of Ustad Vilayat Khan that featured a Dhrupad recital by Ustad R. Fahimuddin Dagar.

Rashmi Agarwal and artistes of the North Zone Cultural Centre presented Horis and thumris on the occasion of Holi. Madhup Mudgal presented Basant Ritu, songs of Holi. IIC also presented a concert, Divertimento for Brass, by the Hohenlohe Brass Quintet from Germany.

Italian Film

Italian Embassy Cultural Institute screened an Italian film, non aver paura (Fear of the Angel), for its members earlier this week.

Dance Performances

British Council presented `Inhabit', a solo contemporary dance performance by Preethi Athreya, to mark the 25th anniversary of Charles Wallace India Trust.

Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage presented `Dhara', a multimedia performance weaving the acrobatic skills of the gotipua dancers and the classicism of Odissi, with painting by Pattachitra artists.
