Musical extravaganza

Stay tuned to watch the re-run of an entertainment show, Kovai Express, on Vijay TV, March 31 at 7 p.m.

This time Vijay TV flagged off its next instalment of the music event, "Kovai Express," for talented singers at Coimbatore. The venue of the event was Hindustan College of Arts & Science, Coimbatore.

The three-hour show featured some of the leading playback singers viz, Harish Raghavendra, Sujatha, Tippu, Rajnith, Malathi and Chinmayi, who rendered a few foot-tapping numbers from both the old and new movies.

Trendy dance numbers were presented by John Britto's troupe.

Also featured were the five top participants from Vijay's most popular comedy show `Kalakkapovathu Champions,' who entertained the audience live on the stage.

This week's episode will feature an interview with writer Sujatha. He has a unique style of writing which has got him a huge fan following. His first story was published in 1953 in `Sivaji' magazine.

Sujatha's literary work includes fiction in different categories and a good number of science fiction stories in Tamil.

He has also written books, which explain science in simple Tamil.

He has also compiled a list of Tamil equivalent words for computer terms.

Tune in to know more about the legend who has also distinguished himself as a writer for films.

Mahakumbabhishekam

To witness the Kumbabhishekam at Sri Dhandayudapani temple at Pazhani, tune in to Jaya TV on April 3. The channel will telecast live the procedure from 8.30 a.m. onwards.

MARK OF BEAUTY: Eva Miss Chennai to be aired on Jaya TV, Saturday, 9 p.m.

The gala event, Eva Miss Chennai, which was conducted by `VIBA" at the Chennai conventional Centre, Nandambakkam, on February 24, will be aired on Jaya TV, Saturday at 9 p.m. Watch out for the winners besides enjoying a music and dance show.
