A mix of sentiment and action

S. R. ASHOK KUMAR

The climax of `Solli Adipaen' was shot on the beach at Besant Nagar, Chennai, recently.

WITH VIVEKH AS HERO: Solli Adippaen

It was late in the night. The unit of Indian Theatre Productions `Solli Adippaen' was at the beach, in Besant Nagar, Chennai. Vivekh and Chaya Singh were in the waters. Director S.A.C. Ramkkie informed that it was the climax that was being shot. "We have finished the shooting part, only the patch work is to be completed. Vivekh, who has till now been doing only comedy, is the hero, and it will be a different kind of story for him also. I have done the script in such a way that it has all the ingredients of a box office hit."

Three cameras were filming the scenes from different angles. The director was using a steady cam, and also regular cameras. Both the actors were in waist deep water. Vivekh said the film is a war between brain and muscle. "We do not want to have a full length comedy film. There is sentiment, comedy, action and melodious music. I have also sung a song with music director Deva, as director Ramkkie insisted that I sing. Dance and action blocks are also there in the film. The film is a mixture of emotions. As the director is basically an art director of about 25 films, he has shot songs with beautiful sets and all the songs will be a visual treat." Chaya Singh is very happy that she is part of the film where Vivekh is the hero. "I want every film of mine to become a hit. Both Vivekh and the director have worked hard and I am doing my bit for the success of the film ."

The director said, "I have begun the film as a comedy and I have finished it on a serious note. The audience will not be disappointed."

The cast also has Tejashri, `Thalai Vaasal' Vijay, National Award winner Tara, Chinni Jayanth, `Delhi' Ganesh and `Maha Nadhi' Shankar. Camera is handled by Suresh Devan.
