Jyothika in Venky's venture

Producers Sanam Naga Ashok Kumar and N.V. Prasad finally got the nod from Jyothika to play the female lead in Adavari Matalaku Arthalu Verule with Venkatesh in the lead. Jyothika has already acted with top heroes like Chiranjeevi (Tagore) and Nagarjuna (Mass). The film is to be directed by Sri Raghava. The producers are busy finalising the rest of the cast. The film was launched in February. Venkatesh is now holidaying in Canada and will return to India after May 15. Venkatesh has three films on hand — one will be directed by Srinu Vytla or Yogi, another will be produced by Giri and directed by Trivikram Srinivas and the third one is Adavari Matalaku Arthalu Verule.


Kanmani to direct Sumanth

Director Kanmani, who made Naa Oopiri, is going to direct Sumanth for his new film, the shooting for which commenced on April 23. Several top film personalities and political leaders attended the muhurat. Former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu attended the programme, while N.T. Rama Rao gave the clap for the muhurat shot. Besides, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Gopichand, Kalyanram, Harikrishna and others also attended. The film is produced by Polygon Motion Pictures Pvt Ltd. After Gowri, Charmme and Sumanth will come together for this film.

Is Sneha the next Soundarya?

After the sudden demise of Soundarya, the entire Telugu film industry was in a shock. The industry lost one of its finest actresses. Now, many feel that Sneha can suit both glamorous and serious roles like Soundarya. She shot into fame after the stupendous success of Sri Ramadasu. She had already acted with Venkatesh in Sankranti. Now she is keen on acting with Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna.


Jagapathi Babu on a roll

Nandi-award winning director Madan of Aa Naluguru fame, is turning director with a film starring Jagapathi Babu. The film, Pellaina Kottalo, is being produced by Aa Naluguru productions.

The film will be a family entertainer and also star Sneha. Meanwhile, Jagapati Babu's Brahmastram is ready for release. Says Jagapati Babu "I am playing the character of a person who is totally out of sync with the surroundings. It is a rough character." Neha Oberoi is the heroine of Brahmastram.
