Telecom Kalaasrvanthiorgansied a three-day drama festival last week Maanavatvaniki Marokonam analysed the quality of humaneness from different angles. It was scripted by S. Kasiviswanath of cine fame, directed by M. Jagdeesh for Bhagyasree Fine Arts Visakhapatnam.Naaku Deerghamist directed by B.P. Prasada Rao for Vamseeniranjan Kalaakendra, Hyderabad, that analysed the pros and cons of the concepts of I, Mine and Ours, were staged on the first day. The second day witnessed the staging of Aasalapallaki of Nemelikanti Ramana and was directed by B. Ramesh for Swarna Bharathi. Darpanam of Krishnasri, directed by Ramana Rao for RVR Productions, Samalkota depicted how the educated youth of the day stand misguided by their own parents. The stage adaptation of the short story of Kalyana Sundarajagannath that establishes the supremacy of love by Snigdha with the title Alarasaputtillu, was directed by M. Prasada Murty for Kalavani, Rajahmundry. Vande Meetaram of Poorvi, directed by S. Jayasree for Sri Vijaya Arts, Hyderabad advocated the fact that the present and the future belong to the youth. Almost all the actors exhibited good talent with soulful involvement and made the overall experience a pleasant one. Maanavatvaniki Marokonam and Alarasaputtillu were awarded the 1st and 2nd prizes in the best production category. Author of Aasalapallaki Nemalikanti and M. Prasada Murty who directed Alarasaputtilu got the 1st prizes individually. While the first two prizes for the best actors went to S.A. Ramamurty and Bhavaniprasad. K. Vijayalakshmi and Saroja bagged the first two prizes in the best actress category respectively. Ramakrishna Rao was the judge.
