Dance Performances
Arushi Mudgal, disciple of Madhavi Mudgal, presented an Odissi recital at the India International Centre earlier this week.
She was accompanied by Gandhi Mallik (pakhawaj), Purna Chandra Majhi and Manikuntala Bhowmik (vocal), Srinibas Satapathy (flute), Yar Mohammed (sitar) and Diwan Singh (tanpura).
Naatiya Sudhaa presented at the Habitat Centre, `Ritu Hriday in Bharatanatyam', a melange of diverse pieces celebrating the cycle of seasons. Krithika Ramachandran presented a Bharatanatyam recital at Delhi Tamil Sangam this past week.
Music Programmes
The IIC featured a Dhrupad recital by Ustad F. Wasifuddin Dagar, in memory of Ustad N. Zahiruddin Dagar.
This was followed by a Hindustani classical vocal recital by Ustad Ghulam Sadiq Khan, with vocal support by Ghulam Abbas Khan.
The Centre also featured a two-day Rabindra Jayanti Celebration featuring Banglar Gaan Rabir Pran - Rabindra Sangeet presented by Prabuddha Raha and Timir Ghosh; and Rabindra Sangeet - Taal o Laya by Suchitra Mitra and Anita Pal.
A number of music programmes were featured at the India Habitat Centre. Which included a Carnatic vocal recital by Shobha Ramesh, disciple of Palghat T.S. Anantharaman and D.K. Jayaraman; an evening of Rabindra Sangeet, `Guru Pronam' by Sunanda Ghosh and disciples.
And Nivedita Ghosh Music Academy presented `Rishikavi: A Tribute to Tagore'.
