STARGAZING


Five heroines to come together

NTR Arts, which produced Athanokkade with Kalyanram in the lead, is all set to launch its second film with Harikrishna in a key role. Mallikarjun, who had directed Kalyanram for Abhimanyu, will wield the megaphone. It is learnt that there will be five heroines in the film. Sneha and Simran have already agreed to play two roles and efforts are on to rope in Sobhana and Sandhya (of Premiste fame) for the film. The film is likely to be titled Bobbili Puli or Senapathi. G.S. Rao, who penned the script for Samba, is providing the subject. Manisharma will provide tunes, C. Ramprasad will be the cinematographer and Gouthamraju will be the editor.

Green thumb!


While Chiranjeevi launched blood banks and eye banks, his brothers Pawan Kalyan and Nagababu have come forward to work for a cleaner environment. They have launched an organisation called `Eco Friends' with Chiranjeevi as the honorary president and Nagababu as president. The unit started its movement by planting 3,000 saplings at Bantumilli village in Krishna district, before the Republic Day. Later, they undertook plantation at Nagarjuna University. The programme would be extended across the state with the help of National Service Scheme volunteers. Later, a programme was chalked out to plant at least one lakh saplings across the state.

Samudra and Rajasekhar together again


After almost five long years, Samudra and Rajasekhar are pairing up for a new film. Samudra made his debutas director through Simharasi, which starred Rajasekhar.Another speciality is that Simran, who was awayfrom films after marriage, has been roped in as heroine.This film is also a remake of a successful Malayalam filmthat had Suresh Gopi as the hero. Though several ofMalayalam remakes have flopped in Telugu, Rajasekharbelieves this film will work. is still clinging on the same pattern. Let us see how he would fare in this lastest venture

Ankita joins the glam brigade


Ankita, who was popular until recently, has been losing out as a result of many newcomers entering the film industry. In a move to regain her popularity, she seems toe be game to essay glamorous roles. After the sexy Cheema_ Cheema_ song in Simhadri, she donned donning a glamorous role in Seetaramudu as well.

`Astram' audio to release today


The audio of Astram , directed by Suresh Krishna with Vishnu and Anushka in the lead, will be released on May 26 at a function to be held at Chowmohalla Palace . The film is being produced by Raju Harwani of Supreme audio. Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff plays a key role in this film. Incidentally, this is the first audio release function to be held at the palace.
