I AM HERE Aadeel Baarki
So, one more singer from Pakistan has landed on Indian soil with an album. The singer is called Aadeel Baarki and the album, Khoobsurat. Be it Sufi, ghazal, bhangra, Punjabi or pop, Aadeel claims his new album has them all. Born and brought up in Lahore, Aadeel says he's always had a great passion for music.
His new album is titled so because the artiste finds the coming together of these various genres of music is beautiful. . "It is like myown beautiful child," he said.
Thirteen songs
One of the songs from the album, "Jaao Kaha" has been shot in England. The album consists of 13 songs, each unique in its own way. He states, "Everybody will enjoy this album because it has a variety of songs. Every song has a different mood."
Aadeel's association with India stems from his lineage. His forefathers hail from India. He says,"It is the love and appreciation of the Indian people that has made me launch an album here."
On the many Pakistani singers and bands that have gained tremendous success in India, he says, "It is because of their own merit and work. But apart from that, there is a lot of exposure here, because of which people in India can understand music and recognise true talent."
Aadeel has been inspired and influenced by many artistes, both Indian and Pakistani: Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Mehdi Hassan, Reshma, Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhosle, Lata Mangeshkar and A.R. Rahman to name a few.
Given a chance, he would love to work with some of the living legends, since he doesn't just admire them for their immense versatility, but for the fact that they have been able to maintain such high standards for so many years.
T-Series has launched his debut album in India. And Aadeel feels it is just the beginning.
"I still have to conquer many more milestones," he concludes.
