Award for Ananda

Renowned dancer and choreographer Dr Ananda Shankar Jayant has been selected to receive the prestigious award and title of Nritya Choodamani from Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, Chennai. She will receive this award in December at the 51st Art and Dance festival of the Sabha. Ananda, who's the first and only dancer from AP to receive the highest award of TN for arts, Kalaimamani in 2003, said the award is a validation by peers and connoisseurs of one's talent. "This award will push me to seek and reach aesthetic excellence," she added.
