Malladi brothers honoured

Malladi brothers conferred with the title `Asthana Vidwans'.




Malladi brothers.

The popular vocal duo Malladi brothers Sriramprasad and Ravikumar received a rare honour for their eminence in the field of music. They were made Asthana Vidwans of Avadhoota Datta Peetham, Mysore. As part of the 64th birthday celebration of Sri Ganapathi Satchidananda Swamiji, the Peetham bestowed the honour upon them.

Other lummineries who were honoured by the Swamiji were Pt. Shivkumar Sharma, the santoor maestro, (Nada Nidhi) Kuchipudi dancer K.V. Satyanarayana (Asthana Vidwan), Vedic scholars Krishnamurthy Ganapathi, S.T. Nagaraja Sastri, S.V. Shyama Bhatt and veteran stage actress Nagaratnamma (Asthana Vidwans). All the recipients were blessed by the Swamiji with citations, shawls, gold chains and cash awards. Incidentally, Malladi brothers are the youngest to receive the honour so far.
