Three is no crowd
Reputed producer Shailendra Babu, launched an audio company, Shruthi. "I am starting this audio company because the existing companies quote a very low price for film music. Instead of degrading our project I thought of this cassette company and priced the cassette at Rs. 25 and CD at Rs. 35." Megastar, Vishnuvardhan, who released the cassette said: "I have seen confidence in Shailendra Babu. Success will come, but only if it is backed by a genuine commitment."He also said director Ravi Srivatsa is a capable man and appreciated his work over screenplay. Superstar Upendra, who released the CD, said Ravi has added technical brilliance, style and smartness to the film. Ravi director of Ganda Hendathi and Boy Friend said he has his share of trials, tribulations and happiness in his 11-year career. "For me, Vishnuvardhan is Guru and Upendra is Guri. I am waiting for a chance to direct Upendra." Music director V. Manohar called upon the Kannada film producers to do away with six-song pattern. Prior to the release of audio album of Ganda Hendathi... some rushed from the film were shown.
Gurukiran's second break
Ever since he began his career with the Kannada film, A, he's on the constant lookout for setting records. This composer had given seven successful hits to seven debut directors and all of their films have been hit films. However, Shubam, also from debutante director Ravi Gharani bombed at the box office. But Shubam is doing good with its audio. Gurukiran is making music for a Telugu film, a Balakrishna starrer, replacing the permanent music director of his films, Manisharma. Gurukiran tried to sell "Kenchalo Mchchalo" tune to Balakrishna, but there were already similar sounding tunes in Telugu films. He has sent two new tunes and is waiting for approval.
Raring to go
Indrajith Lankesh, who is three films old, has completed his fourth Aishwarya. The film has Upendra, Daisy and Deepika in lead roles. It had a 48-day schedule at Bangalore, Sagar, and Europe. Aishwarya was shot in Europe, Vienna, Austria and Italy. Indrajith said Upendra's new hairstyle will be loved by the women. This would definitely be a successful film in my career, Indrajith Lankesh said. Kumar, one of the producer's of Aishwarya, said that he was willing to make one film a month, if he was ensured of such a team.
Kudos for Sudeep
Sudeep recently organised a screening of his hit, My Autograph. Actors Darshan, Devaraj, Kumar Bangarappa, Comedy Time Ganesh, Sharan, director P.N. Sathya, Mayoor, Thilak, Vishal Hegde, actress Radhika, Monica had good things to say about the film. At least after 110 days of the screening of My Autograph, Sudeep's industry friends have shown interest in watching the film.
Old is gold
Director Sunil Kumar Desai is back after the debacle of Ramya Chaitrakaala with Kshana Kshanam. Speaking to media persons during the muhurat, he said: " Ramya Chaitrakaala may have failed, but I'm not ready to accept it's a bad film. This one is a thriller." Audhitya, Prema, Sridevika, Ashutosh Rana, Kiran Rathod and Sowmya from USA play prominent roles in the film. "I have gone back to the days of Tarka, Utkarsha and Nishkarsha,"says Desai.
"I am making this film for the masses. Thirumalai is the producer. There will be no shades of any film in Kshana Kshanam." Portions of the film will be shot in Toronto. Prema, who plays Kiran Rathod's secretary,is yet to finish two songs for Ekadanta (directed by actor-director Sachin and starring Vishnuvardhana and Ramesh Aravind) and is also getting married in July. Auditya, who plays her bodyguard in the film, is fresh from Mohini, a horror film.Sridevika, the heroine of My Autograph,who plays the lead in Ravichandran's Neelakanta, plays Auditya's girl friend. R.P. Patnaik who scores the music, says his " Madhira Madhira... would be as popular as "Dum Maro Dum."
