Adventure that leaves a trail of murder

S. R. ASHOK KUMAR

A group of young people freaks out only to be caught in a deadly web.

NEARING COMPLETION: Kaasu Irukkanum

Sanjeeev Farms on the ECR had been transformed into a five-star hotel with accessories at the cost of Rs.5 lakhs, courtesy the producer of the film ``Kaasu Irukkanum." Shooting was in full swing with actor-director Bhagyaraj checking the steps of the dancers in the group. Dance master `Cool' Jayanth was alert, keen on perfection.

Directors R. Kumaran and Priyavan were discussing their angles for the song with U. K. Senthilkumar. Work was almost over on the film, they said.

"We are working round the clock to finish the film as early as possible. This is our first directorial venture and we are eager to see it on the silver screen," they said.

Three pairs

The story is a thriller. There are three pairs in the film — Vishwa, `Kadhal' Sukumar and Arul as heroes and Payal, Nandita and Laksha are the heroines. Good friends, they freak out in a mood of adventure and soon are overtaken by problems. Bhagyaraj comes to their rescue and takes them to a place, where one after another they are killed.

The climax, according to the directors will turn out to be one of the best and unique in Tamil cinema.

Bhagyaraj is extremely optimistic about the film. ``It sure is going to be a hit," he said.

Producer G.R. is also incharge of story, screenplay, dialogue and songs. "It has been my ambition to produce a good film and I think `Kasu Irukkanum' is good by any standard with both the directors contributing to its success. My son Vishwa is doing an important role in the film as one of the heroes. The songs have all come out very well thanks to Deva who has also sung a song after a gap of four years."

The cast includes Livingston, G.R., Muthukkalai, Singamuthu, David Annachi.
