Narayana Tirtha Jayanthi
Thirupoonthuruthy Sri Narayana Tirtha Swamigal Trust has been celebrating the Jayanthi of the saint-composer every year at Chennai for the past 20 years.
This year, the jayanthi of Swamigal will also be celebrated at his birthplace `Kaza' near Guntur and Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh.
On July 6, Chennai celebrations will be held at Narada Gana Sabha Mini Hall, with Veda parayanam, namasankeertanam and a tarangam recital by Alleppey Venkatesan.
On July 7, celebrations continue at Kaza with special abhishekam performed to the idol of the saint, followed by namasankeertanam by Udayalur Kalyanarama Bhagavathar.
Also a formal inauguration will take place at Siddhartha auditorium, Sathya Narayanapuram, Vijayawada, the same evening.
Modumudi Sudhakar and Hyderabad Sampath Kumar will give tarangam music concerts followed by Malladi Brothers.
Sri Krishna Jayanthi festival will be celebrated at Narayana Tirtha's Brindavan, Thirupoonthuruthy, on August 16 with Taranga agandam.
