Hari Narayanan and Fabba Fabrizio have created an album titled `Sculpting Noise.'

Hari Narayanan's first love - the tabla - seems to stand him in good stead. He sculpts noise into music.
In an enjoyable percussion ensemble that is embellished with visuals provided by his Italian friend Fabba Fabrizio, Hari has created a moving musical portrait titled `Sculpting Noise.'
On a query as to what inspired him to bring out the album Hari says: "I am an artiste at a crossroads. This is an off-beat contemporary choreographic work of an artiste.
A musical inspiration, it is an effort to fuse musical notes and tones, with poetry.
The percussionist and the photographer, have come together to create the album under the banner of `Twomen Productions.'
Inspired by rhythm
Fabba, who has shot several documentaries on social issues, was in Kochi, when he attended a recital by Hari. The percussion ignited a spark in Fabba. Soon, they were travelling to locales in Malabar, and visualised the details of what the music portrait would be like.
The album in four parts is a treat to connoisseurs of percussion music.
For Fabba, providing the visuals has been an unusual experience, so different from the stereotype images one had of India abroad.
"I have used special filters in the camera to bring about visual effects, unusual for a documentary album," he says.
"We vibed so well, the album was completed in about two months," explains Hari. The album will be released shortly.
The flowing music and the juxtaposed pictures are in perfect harmony, as Fabba's visuals provide the backdrop to the percussionist's nimble fingers on the tabla.
It could be a walk down the beach to the rhythmic beat; the ambience of a misty morning or mountainous terrain in the backdrop of the percussion. A lonely bird, a dewdrop on a leaf, combine in perfect harmony in the first part titled `Contemplation.'
In `Tribute to Masters,' the percussionist pays homage to singers of the past _ Baburaj, Kozhikode Abdul Khader, Puthocode S. Krishnan, N. Hari, Purandaradasa ... .
The concept of motherhood is the leitmotif in `Tribute to Mother,' with Hari's mother having provided the impetus.
The album is dedicated to gurus S. Krishnan, M. Mani, Karaikudi Mani, Laxmi, Najmal, with a prayer to his father, and beloved friends John Abraham and Hanifa.
Hari Narayanan had earned a name for himself for emoting the memorable role of the protagonist, in John Abraham's `Amma Ariyan' as 24-year-old Hari.
