SOME MELODY The music of "Manoranjan" was released in the Capital this week.

In the season of comedy where movies like "Phir Hera Pheri" and "Tom, Dick and Harry" are ruling the box-office, we have yet another emotional comedy. "Manoranjan", the name itself suggests what the movie has in store for the audience. Ask how entertaining it is going to be and you get the same reply from the director and the co-stars.

A debut directorial venture of Karaan Choudhary, "Manoranjan" is a story inspired by his own life experiences. In a fusion of emotions, the film deals with the intricacies of relationships. The movie has a crew of 32 actors and no star! "I wanted performance and no star name," concedes Karaan who believes he selected only those actors who could justify the roles. According to him "Star nahi chalte style chalta hai, movie nahi chalti story chalti hai". It is not stereotyped hero-heroine romantic movie, each character has an equal important role to play, adds Karaan who was in the Capital for the launch of the music album. The movie has four songs and Karaan takes pride in mentioning that the songs were shot just in 26 days. The film "Manoranjan" is about Rahul (Aryan Vaid), Vicky (Sudanshu Pandde) and Priya (Kavita) who with their respective aspirations reach "the city of dreams" Mumbai to meet their destiny. It moves around their evolving relationships; their journey to success and finally a realisation that money and power are just momentary, what lasts long and keeps one going is true love.

Also starring in the movie are Makrand Deshpande, Vijay Raaz, Vishwajeet Pradhan and Aditi Gowatrikar.

Apart from Karran, the film is also Nayab Raja's debut musical ventureFor Kavita too, it's a stepping-stone to Bollywood. She says "It was the script which convinced me to do the movie. I have worked hard and hope I live up to the expectations of the audience". Not only Kavita, the director himself is keeping his fingers crossed.
