Romance, breezy and triangular

S. R. ASHOK KUMAR

"Sillinu Oru Kaadhal" is ready to take off with Suriya, Jyotika and Bhoomika caught in a love turmoil.

EMOTIONAL AND YOUTHFUL: Sillinu Oru Kaadhal is based on a real incident.

The much talked about pair in town — Suriya and Jyotika — was on the top floor of a high-rise building. Romantic rendezvous? No, the two were shooting for "Sillinu Oru Kaadhal" under the supervision of director Krishna (assistant to director Gautham in "Minnale" to "Kakka Kakka"). The film is almost complete.

"We have shot the film in Mumbai, New Delhi, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundri and Coimbatore. At Rajamundari we shot a song in which nearly 1,000 people participated. We had recreated the MTV Grind show," said the director.

It is a breezy romance, as the title indicates. But there is more to it, Krishna said. ``The inspiration was a real incident, which I developed.

The story by K.C.Durai banks on the emotions of the lively characters caught in a triangle."

And the cast, which includes Bhoomika and Vadivelu, is not crowded.

R.D.Rajasekar handles the camera and A.R.Rahman has scored the music. Antony takes care of the editing.

A wonderful experience

"I was a little nervous about Rahman. He was a veteran and there I was making my debut. But Rahman put me at ease and made it a wonderful experience. We have now become very good friends and he has given cent per cent for the background score for the film," said the director who is also in charge of the script.

Krishna has shown his `Guru bhakti' by naming the hero Gautham.

Jyotika is Kundhavi and Boomika is Ishu. "I have always liked the typical Tamil name Kundhavi and used the opportunity. Jyotika has done a great job," he said. Studio Green's "Sillinu Oru Kaadhal" is produced by E.Gnanavel.

``We didn't have the box office in mind when we started. The script was neat and our aim was to give a good film based on emotions. I think we have succeeded," said Suriya as Jyotika and Bhoomika nod in unison.
