Toons in action

"Icy `n' Spicy" is ready to hit the silver screen.

COMPLETE ENTERTAINER A scene from the first Indian 3d animation film, "Icy 'n' Spicy"

The market of animation films is expanding in India. People are not only buying the DVDs of such films, but are also lining up to watch them on the big screen.

Recently "Over the Hedge" not only got good reviews but also did reasonably well at the box office.

However, India has yet to come up with a regular supply of such films. Of course, we have a "Hanuman" to boast of, but that's it.

Now comes "Icy `n' Spicy", India's first 3D animation film. It is produced and directed by Anil Goyal, who has developed a new software called Educon.

Fun film

Said to be a complete entertainer, the film is full of action, comedy and drama.

The story centres around two characters Icy and Spicy who have lots of fun till the interval. They look simple but both have magical powers given to them by their friend Gantoo (little Ganesh).

Gantoo always helps them. There are little skirmishes in the school like when Icy makes a house of sand on the beach some mischievous students break it. Spicy comes to her rescue.

After intermission the story takes a twist when Luduno, the main villain enters into the fray.

The film is interspersed with songs. The title song is rendered by the young and talented Vani and Anshum and Satish Babbar has composed the music.
