Know your temples

`Ashtadasa Shakti Peeta Darshini' gives information on 18 powerful temples in India, Srilanka and Nepal.


There's no doubt that Asia is culturally and spiritually very strong. And the sources of these inspirations are the various temples across our different places. Filmmaker couple, Annapurna Chaturvedula and Sasidhar Godavarthy of Varsha Soft Tech through their twin video CDs, Ashtadasa Shakti Peeta Darshini, have tried to showcase that in through these CDs. These CDs cover some of the culturally rich and powerful spiritual centres across India, Nepal and Srilanka. The two-hour long CD will prove very beneficial for travellers as well as it gives information about the rituals, facilities and other important details about 18 temples.

The temples covered in the CDs are the temple of Shankari Devi in Sri Lanka, which is located on the equator.The temple of Kamakshi in Kanchi where Sreechakramhas been consecratedAdi Shankara has established the Kamakotipeetham in Kanchi.

The temple of Shrinkala Devi in Pradyumnam, temple of Chamundi in Kraunchapattnam, temple of Jogulamba in Alampur, temple of Bhramarambika in Srisailam, Mahalaxmi temple in Kolhapur, temple of Ekaveera Devi in Mahur, Mahakali temple of Ujjain, Puruhoothika of Peetikapuri, Girija Devi of Odyanam, Manikyamba of Draksharama, Kamaroopi of Harishethra, Bindu Madhavi of Prayaga, Vaishno Devi of Jwalaketham, Mangalya Gowri of Gaya, Vishalakshi of Kasi (also known as Varanasi) and Saraswathi temple in Kashmir. The twin CDs pack is priced at Rs. 250.

The company has earlier made documentary films on paces like Tirumala, Annavaram and Yadagirigutta. They have also made short films for the A.P Tourism department.
