A rare presentation
In celebration of the International Dance Alliance's (IDA) twentieth anniversary, the IDA and the Narada Gana Sabha conducted the `Natya Nakshatra Malika' in Chennai recently.
The event featured accomplished dancers from across the country. Rajeswari Sainath and Kuchipudi dancer Deepika Reddy from Hyderabad also performed solo and with her troupes respectively.
One of Rajeshwari's items represented a string of episodes in the life of Lord Brahma.Other performers included B. Bhanumati, the Dhananjayans, the Narsimhacharis and Anita Ratnam.
Swara Nrtiya Sudha
The 335th Aradanotsavam of Sri Raghavendra Swamy was celebrated with a great pomp and devotion. As part of this celebration, a cultural fete called `Swara-Nritya Sudha' was jointly organised by the Music Lovers Association (MLA) and Sree Sankham Art theatre, Hyderabad, for three days. The first day of the programme featured `Veena Vaadana.'
The last day included a tabla solo by Master R.V.V.N.S Gopal Krishna Murthy supported well on harmonium by Ananth Nyalkalker and followed by a Sitar recital by Kum. Sampade Udigirker, who was accompanied on tabla by Lakshmikanth Katti.
