An evening of culture

To go with the spirit of Krishna Janmasthami and to mark its VII anniversary, Uttara Centre for Performing Arts has lined up a series of programmes on August 21-22 at the Sri Tyagaraya Gana Sabha at Chikkadpally.

The first day programme includes Brinda Venu Ganam a group flute recital with Shankari, Maitreyi, R. P. Raju, Krishna Chaitanya, Venkat Sharan performing. On the same day, there is Bharatanatyam dance-drama Rukmini Kalyanam choreographed by Geetha Ganesan with music composed by Jayaprada Ramamurthy.

The second day schedule has a line up of flute recital and Bharatanatyam recital followed by flute and dance jugalbandi called Five Elements which was performed earlier in Colombo in May 2006.
