Thoughtfully planned two events paid homage to Adibhatla.

IN HONOUR Adibhatla Narayanadas.
The 142nd jayanthi of Harikadha Pitamaha Srimadazzada Adibhatla Narayanadas was celebrated with devout fervour by the pupils of Bharati Kalaa Vihara at Gudilova last Thursday and Sangeetha Kalaa Samithi in the city last Sunday.
Knowledgeably guided by the principal of the Vihara, Maha Mahopadhyaya Vankayala Narasimham, the functions at both venues were marked by the presence of octogenarian Nethi Venkatappayya Sarma (son of late Lakshminarayana, direct disciple of Adibhatla) who not only compered the programmes but also delivered enlightening talks on Adibhatla.
Revealingly enough, he explained how Narayanadas innovatively tended not only the rendering of an oratorio - a fine blend of all performing arts (Sakala Kalaa Samaahaara) but also set a novel trend in scripting such kadhaas to suit the new model commensurably.
The rendering of a few compositions of Narayanadas (chosen from some of the Harikadhas scripted, set to music and sung by Adibhatla himself) by veteran vocalist B. Indira Kameswara Rao along with G. Parimala supported by T.V. Bhaskara Rao on violin and B. Vijaya Kumar on mridangam, was a special attraction at both venues.
The grand finale of the function in the city at Sri Sadguru Ramadootha Mandiram, however lay in the Harikadha - Narayanadasa Jeevitha Charitra - scripted by Peddinti Suryanarayana Bhagavataar of Narsapur that was evocatively rendered by Chirra Brahmananda Reddy Bhagavatar of Tyallur.
