Marquee Moves

Emotions morphed!

Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan, Ritesh Deshmukh, Vidya Balan and Boman Irani were called for a test shoot for Sajid Nadiadwala's new film.

The test shoot was to ensure the comfort level of director Sajid Khan with the crew. The film, Hey Baby, will be Sajid Khan's first as director. The cast also includes a child actor.

Hey Baby will use visual effects by motion capture method, which allows morphing of emotions: a crying child can be showed to be smiling using motion capture.

`Satte Pe Satta' to be remade

The Amitabh Bachchan-Hema Malini film Satte Pe Satta will be presented in a new avatar. Doing the honours will be director Raj Sippy. He plans to change the story to suit present times. And instead of seven brothers, the story will have three sisters and four brothers. Sippy has tentatively titled the project Seven and wants Sanjay Dutt to play the lead role.

Juhi, Tabu with Amitabh

Tabu has been paired with the Big B for Cheeni Kum, a project that was delayed due to Amitabh Bachchan's ill health but resumed nevertheless. Now, the chirpy Juhi Chawla has been signed on for another Bachchan film, Bhootnath. Shah Rukh Khan is likely to make a guest appearance in this movie.

Amiran, not Umrao Jaan

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan starrer Umrao Jaan is one of the most awaited films. J.P. Dutta's work is an adaptation of Mirza Hadi Ruswa's novel Umra-O-Jaan-E-Ada. It tells the story of a small town girl, Amiran, who is abducted from her home and sold in the bazaars of Lucknow. Dutta says his film will bring out the story of Amiranand not just the courtesan Umrao Jaan, as the world saw her.
