Music appreciation programme

Mudhra will conduct the 10th `One -week music appreciation programme' from October 23 to 30 at Ramakrishna Mission School premises, T. Nagar. The programme will be held daily at 6.15 p.m.

Dr. Radha Bhaskar, musician and musicologist will be conducting the sessions with special inputs from guest artists.

The topics to be covered are introduction to different forms of music — folk, devotional, film and classical music, fundamentals of carnatic music, how a concert is structured, different musical forms sung in concerts and simple explanations about each, creative aspect of carnatic music, role of accompaniments, raga and tala structure, easy methods to become familiar with common ragas and talas and many such interesting topics.
