60 years of service to a cause

Versatile writer Vasantharao Ramakrishna Rao was felicitated by Sahridaya Sahithi in the Subhalaya Hall of Hotel Meghalaya last Sunday. The occasion was to commemorate his successful completion of over 60 years of creative writing.

Quoting excerpts from some of the research articles History of ancient temples in and around Visakhapatnam, Sri Aurobindo, Jhansi Rani, Kandukuri Ragamanjari, besides Satakams on Lords Sri Venkateswara and Sri Satyanarayana, etc., a number of speakers felt that Ramakrishna Rao rendered invaluable service to the cause of literature.

His work in Telugu and English reflect his profundity of knowledge both in the oriental and occidental literature on one hand and his heart-felt concern for the society around on the other, they said.

Rao started scripting articles, short stories and compose poems from the young age of 13.
