Shreyas Talpade: Cameo dilemma?

The casting and re-casting for Ram Gopal Varma's version of Sholay continues. Varma approached Shreyas Talpade to do a small but significant part of a young lad who gets killed by Gabbar Singh. Put your thinking caps on and you'll recall the role played by Sachin in the original. Shreyas was not sure on doing a cameo, especially when his career is looking up after Iqbal and Dor. He asked Varma for a story narration instead. Reportedly, Varma was taken aback and decided against signing Shreyas.
