Musical homage

Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer Golden Jubilee Foundation in association with Sri Krishna Sweets has organised shraddanjali to the doyen of Carnatic music on October 31 at Dakshinamurthi Hall, P.S.High School, R.K.Mutt Road, Mylapore. The programme begins at 5.30 p.m., with a homage followed by a musical tribute by the students of Semmangudi. They will be led by gurus Seetha Rajan, P.S.Narayanaswamy, K.R.Kedaranathan and V.Subrahmaniam.

Yoga classes

Satyananda Yoga Centre is conducting a one-month free yoga course by Sannyasi Krishnayogam, disciple of Paramahamsa Satyananda Saraswati. Classes begin for the 51st batch on October 29 at Bala Vidya HS School, 30, Vasudevapuram, West Mambalam.The classes are aimed at physical, mental and spiritual health. Combination

Sarvani Sangeetha Sabha has organised the rendering of ashtapadis of Jayadeva, tarangams of Narayana tirtha and slokas of Leela Suka to be presented on October 28, 6 p.m. by S.R.Veeraraghavan and Lalitha Madhav at Music Academy Mini Hall.

Skanda Sashti

Sri Visalakshi Ambal Udanurai Sri Virupaksheeswarar temple, Bazaar Road, Mylapore, is celebrating the festival till October 29. Surasamharam will be on Oct. 28 at 7.30 p.m. Tirukkalyanam will take place the next day, followed by a procession of the deities.

Samprokshanam

The Prathistapana and Samprokshanam of Moolavar vigrahams of Lakshmi Hayagreevar and Sri Kethandapatti Swami at the Avatharasthalam at Lakshmipuram, Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh, is on till Oct. 27. Contributions may be sent in the form of cheque/DD drawn in the name of Sri Rangaramanuja Mahadesikan Trust (Regd), payable at Bangalore and sent to the Trust's Regd. Rath Yatra

A rath yarta of the statues of Anandeshwara and Anandeshwari that are to be installed at Dhyanapeetam Ashram, Bidadi, Bangalore, was flagged off at Tiruvannamalai by Paramahamsa Nithyananda. The yatra will travel throughout Tamil Nadu for public darshan and reach Tambaram on Oct. 29 around 4.30 p.m. A welcome ceremony has been organised by Dhyanapeetam, Chennai devotees, at Muthurangan Part, West Tambaram. Veda classes
