For art's sake

A seminar on cultural reportage.
|
Most of the artistes complain that nothing much is written about them and their art form and performances. The meetings are generally prolonged and the sponsor of the programme naturally gains importance. This results in delaying the main programme. Keeping this and many other working conditions in view, the Department of Culture, Cultural Council and Forum of Cultural Reporters, jointly held a daylong seminar at Ravindra Bharati's mini theatre on Sunday. This was inaugurated by A.P. Press Academy Chairman Devulapalli Amar and was presided over by Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, chairman of the Council. Rallabandi Kavitha Prasad, noted poet and director Department of Culture, and Dharmavarapu were the persons who took initiative in holding this. Before this, Dharmavarapu inaugurated a pressroom too in Kala Bhavan, with telephone facility, allotted to the cultural reporters to facilitate fast reporting. G.S.Varadachari and Telakapalli Ravi, senior journalists offered suggestions to better things. Devulapalli Amar promised Academy's support for their activities.
